Bhirandiara Village
The following posts were taken of a Harijan tribe, all living in a village called Bhirandiara. The name "Harijan" was given by Ghandi. Ghandiji was very sympathetic to the Harijan & their plight of poverty & hardships. Now, they receive some support from the government - including building of houses after the earthquake, & programs to promote tourism & subsidize the sale of handicrafts. "Hari" means "God" and "jan" means "people". Thus, they are the "people of God".
