Ayer Pilgrimage Rest Stop #10

While at this little rest stop having tea, a truck full of people from the Ayer tribe pulled up. Ayer people are said to be direct descendants of Lord Krsna. My guide decsribes them as of "the yado - a high hindu caste".
They were on a pilgrimmage to a mosque near Setana Village, close to the border of Pakistan in the "border area". I am told that, in Kutch, Hindus do sometimes visit Muslim mosques, and Muslims sometimes visit Hindu temples. Basically, Hindus & Muslims get along here. This is different from many areas of India, including the city of Vadodara, where I currently live. In Vadodara, there where Hindu-Muslim riots back in 2003 (personally, however, I have never witnessed any violence or anger in this regard).

This poor woman was not on the truck - she was just sitting on the side of the road, selling something.
